Specifications include, but are not limited to: The City seeks Proposals from qualified Proposers (hereinafter “Proposer”) to provide the outfitting, operation and management of the ice rink, ice skate rental, a pro shop, administrative office, first aid office, snack bar Concession, restrooms in the Facility, and use of additional party/meeting room(s), subject to City approval (the “Concession”). The Proposer may also offer ice skating lessons. Proposers should be aware that use of these rooms must be consistent with a proper City purpose. All operation and management costs will be borne by the Concessionaire. A. Ice Rink This Concession is subject to the existing agreements with the following tenants (the “Tenants”) that currently utilize the Facility for programming. Long Beach School District (2nd Grade Skate, Middle School/JV/Varsity Hockey) Long Beach Athletic Club (LB Lightning Youth Hockey) HSHLNC New York Rangers Grow the Game Long Beach Titans Spring Hockey Long Beach Sharks Junior Hockey The Facility must be made available for use by its Tenants, in accordance with a schedule agreed upon by the City. The Facility must be operated as an ice skating rink during the skating season. The exact dates are subject to City’s approval. The Concessionaire may operate the Facility year round for the purpose of ice skating, or another type of Concession, subject to City’s approval. City will view favorably Proposals that include operating the Facility year-round. Exact dates for the summer season are subject to City’s approval. If the Concessionaire does not operate the Facility as an ice skating rink on a year-round basis, the Concessionaire will be required to melt down the ice promptly at the conclusion of the operating season and leave the premises in good order and repair. The Concessionaire will be responsible for annual maintenance and repairs, including, but not limited to, repainting the Facility prior to the start of each operating season. The Concessionaire shall also accommodate an agreed upon number of Long Beach Department of Parks & Recreation (“Parks”) events, free of charge, each year for the term of the License.
