Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. All driveways, parking areas, exterior stairs and entranceways shall be cleared to be hazard free to all school personnel and students by 6:00 a.m. every day Monday –Saturday following or during the snow fall. Plowing shall continue if snow continues to fall as defined below. 2. Plowing will be considered complete when areas are scraped to the area’s surface and snow accumulation is completely removed from the areas specified. 3. The contractor has the responsibility to monitor the weather and maintain contact with the District’s Director of Buildings and Grounds. 4. Any accumulating snow of between 0.5” and 2 “may require plowing and de-icing. The contractor shall contact the Director of Buildings and Grounds to determine the need for plowing and salting. 5. Any snow accumulation of 2” or more automatically necessitates plowing of all areas, at all locations. All lawn/turf areas will be mowed and maintained at approximately 2 to 3 inches, depending on the time of season and weather conditions. 4. String trimming/weed whipping of all areas around buildings, signs, trees, mailboxes, light poles, parking lots, playgrounds, and other landscape items shall be done on as needed basis. Parameter fencing is excluded from this. School district staff will apply chemical weed control to these fence areas. 5. Edging of selected sidewalks on an “as needed bases.” Primarily these are walkways leading up to the buildings. 6 Spring and fall cleanup of lawn and shrub beds as needed. This includes, but is not limited to, leaves, sticks, branches, and trash. 7. Trash and debris will be picked up prior to mowing, not mowed through or over. 8. All work is to be performed during normal daytime hours providing that the use of power equipment is discontinued when and if children become present in the immediate area that the work is being done. Work can be performed during evenings and weekend hours providing the safety precautions listed above are followed
