Work is to include the upgrade of the existing AWOS by replacement of equipment at the site, including but not necessarily limited to: mechanical wind system (complete), temperature and humidity sensors, barometer and vent, cloud-height sensor (ceilometer), visibility and present -weather equipment, precipitation gauge and tipping bucket, two new 12-volt deep cycle marine-type batteries for the AWOS uninterruptable power supply (UPS), AWOS data collection equipment, high-band ground-plane UHF antenna, VHF outdoor radio antenna replacement, and all necessary equipment to provide a newly upgraded, fully operational and commissioned FAA-certified AWOS Level III-PT. This contract shall further include the installation of a new thunderstorm sensor. Removal of existing AWOS equipment is included in this contract, as is clearing and grubbing of vegetation within the approximately 36'x36' AWOS site. Note well that this contract generally is for the upgrade of the airport's existing AWOS by removal and replacement only of existing AWOS equipment and is not a new AWOS installation.
