Specifications include, but are not limited to: Payload Capacity: The cab-chassis shall be designed and manufactured to legally and safely transport a maximum payload capacity of seventeen tons (17 tons). Configuration: The cab-chassis shall be designed and manufactured to optimize the efficient mounting and removal of snow plow equipment; i.e. a “quick coupler” system. Engine; indicate Make and Model: Engine Emissions Standards: 1. The engine (all components of the engine and emissions system; including engine emissions emitted) shall be designed, manufactured and installed to comply fully with the standards established by the US- EPA (Federal EPA) for year 2017 green house gas regulation engines (all components of the engine and emissions system; including engine emissions emitted). Further, said compliance shall include, but is not limited to, the following engine emissions standard with respect to Class 8 Heavy-Duty Commercial Trucks – “heavy-duty diesel engines shall not emit NOx levels greater than .2g/bhp-hr (grams per brake, horsepower per hour). 2. Trucks with engine, engine emissions system, and/or engine emissions rating not in full compliance with the US-EPA standards referenced herein shall not be considered for award. 3. 2014 EPA OBD II (on board diagnostics). 4. Steuben County will only accept 2023 EPA EMISSION STANDARDS ENGINE. Engine: 1. The engine shall be a six-cylinder, turbo-charged diesel, with cruise control and auto resume. At a minimum, the engine shall meet the following operational performance characteristics: • 335 hp/1590 lb.-ft. torque @ max. 1100 rpm • 430 hp/1600 lb.-ft. torque @ max. 1400 rpm • 435 hp/1390 lb.-ft. torque @ max. 1700 rpm • 450 hp/1650 lb.-ft. torque 2. Displacement –13 L. Note: Engine(s) greater than 12.5 L, actual measure, shall be deemed compliant with this bid specification requirement.
