The successful respondent will be granted a license agreement to operate the “ENGINEERING SERVICES FOR THE CASAMENTO POOL RECONSTRUCTION PROJECT.” As set forth above, the Town will host a pre-proposal meeting on September 5, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. at the Casamento Park and Pool, 65 Muncey Road, Bay Shore 11706 at which time respondents will have an opportunity to view the proposed space. This Request for Proposals (RFP) is being issued by the Town of Islip Department of Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Affairs (Parks) to secure engineering, project management, and construction oversight services for the Casamento Pool Reconstruction Project. Parks issues this RFP with no preconceived notions about the project. While it is the general intent to provide the public with a superior facility, the completed project vision has not been finalized and will be a significant part of the evaluation and design phases. The Town of Islip is seeking proposals for the following services: A. Evaluation Phase The winning respondent will be responsible for evaluating the current conditions of the facility including the existing structures, pools, filtrations system, electric, piping, pumps, and associated items. The winning respondent will make appropriate recommendations on best methods of phasing the project to meet all the Town’s goals. The entirety of the area should be addressed in this phase. As noted, the Town has no preconceived notions about the final product and is amenable to complete teardown and redesign of the area to best incorporate the existing space in a facility that meets the needs of the public. B. Design Phase The professional selected by the Town will be required to provide both conceptual and final designs for the reconstruction project. The selected respondent will be required to address all aspects of the project including, securing all necessary permits to advance the needed work, as identified in the evaluation phase. C. Bid Phase The design professional must produce design plans and specifications for use in competitively bidding the project, evaluate the bids that are submitted, and make a recommendation for contract award. The bid documents must be reflective of all current State, County and Local laws and material recommendations. D. Construction Phase Upon the Town’s award of a construction contract for the pool reconstruction, the design professional must provide full-time oversight of construction. The design professional will be expected to meet with Town employees periodically throughout the construction phase to provide necessary updates and receive feedback. E. Closeout Phase Based upon the experiences at other construction projects, the Town anticipates a period whereby the selected respondent will be utilized on an ‘on-call’ basis to ensure proper functioning of the facility.
