Due to the Kosciuszko Bridge’s unique design and structural elements, it requires specialized mechanisms for maintenance, inspection, and repairs. This design contract addresses these needs. The scope of services outlines work required to provide design services for specialized inspections and routine maintenance repairs, as outlined in Kosciuszko Bridge-specific manuals. 1. Periodic inspections and maintenance of Cable Stay elements to adhere to Inspection Manual: • Provide oversight of specialized inspections including but not limited to the following: field coordination efforts support. Specialized inspections include, but not limited to the following: o Top and Bottom Anchorage Internal o Internal Damper General Inspection o Internal Damper Detailed Inspection • QC/QA review of specialized inspection reports. • Assist with preparation and/or review of procedures to facilitate specialized inspections and maintenance. • Perform Special Post Event Inspections (Post Accident, After Lightning Incident, After Earthquake, After Fire Accident, Drainage and other Events). 2. Preparation of repair details, work orders, routine maintenance procedures and inspections of various bridge elements in accordance with KB Maintenance Manuals, including but not limited to: • Perform design services for specific bridge components which show signs of deterioration or any concerns regarding performance. • Prepare recommendations for repairs based on KB manuals. • Inspect drainage system (as needed basis), prepare repairs or/and replacement of FRP drainage pipes, drainage pipe pitch adjustments, and connections. • Aesthetic Lighting Operation and inspection. • Perform Traveler System and onboard lift equipment inspection. • Pylon Inspection of doors, hatches, platforms, ladders, hoist, etc. • Vortech System inspection and maintenance oversight. • Inspection and maintenance oversight of electrical and lighting systems (non-aesthetic). • Groundwater monitoring wells inspection and maintenance oversight. • Facilitate a plan and schedule of component maintenance deadlines and progress tracking. The maintenance plan shall reference the specific Kosciuszko Bridge manuals and their sections.
