Specifications include, but are not limited to: The ability to remove large amounts of debris caused by intense storms is beyond the capabilities of Department Maintenance Forces. This contract requires a Contractor to be available to perform emergency response/debris removal work in a timely manner upon twenty-four (24) hours notice from the Regional Director or a representative. The Contractor will not be called out unless it is anticipated that at least $100,000 dollars worth of work is to be performed. Once the contract is awarded it will be in effect for a 2 year period. If at the end of the 2 year period the contract funds have not be exhausted the contract may be extended one (1) additional year with written notification from the Regional Director. The Contractor shall anticipate weekend work (Saturdays / Sundays) and overtime work. The Contractor shall reflect this in their unit prices bid. Work will be performed by the Contractor, at the Regional Director's direction, in conjunction with the Engineer to protect property and public safety by removing debris and clearing portions of State highways.
