Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Operator will undertake all the necessary steps to design and develop the Project which will be documented in a “Project Plan.” The comprehensive “Project Plan” shall address a detailed description of all activities, budget, and timeline for the project, and how the Operator plans to incorporate key design elements into the program, including but not limited to: a) Recruiting participants, with a focus on underrepresented New Yorkers, and employer partners to join in this project b) Enabling the development of industry-specific, technical skills among participants c) Facilitating learning that complements participants’ technical training and will make participants more successful in the job market d) Organizing networking opportunities across the cyber industry e) Offering a plan on how to sustain the program long-term, both financially and operationally The Operator should be able to place at least 30 people into paid internships, with the goal of increasing this number over time. Additionally, on an ongoing basis the Operator will lead the day-to-day operations, logistics, and management of the Project. The Operator is expected to conduct a series of events, including a kick- off reception, multiple professional development workshops (as necessary), and a closeout event to celebrate the end of the project. Professional development, in-person or virtual, can also include: a) Resume and interview workshops b) Career panels for Interns, Alumni and other community members c) Other events identified by the Operator that are relevant and add value to the project. Intern Recruitment and Placement The Operator will lead the design and implementation of an engagement campaign to secure maximum interest from eligible, diverse Interns. The Operator should propose a variety of outreach methods to engage potential interns and will be responsible for managing all aspects of the Intern application and placement process. This process will include and is not limited to: a) Creating accurate descriptions of the internship experience for both entry-level and mid-level roles, including input from NYCEDC and industry partners b) Creating and managing an online application platform to accept, review and store Intern applications c) Addressing any Project-related questions and inquiries from interested parties d) Reviewing internship applications and engaging with employer partners to identify and place interns into opportunities that will be meaningful, provide concrete, relevant skills and help lead to full-time employment. Cybersecurity Industry/Employer Engagement The Operator will take the lead in promoting the Project within the cybersecurity industry and recruiting private companies to participate in all aspects of the Project, including hosting paid internships. Key activities shall include, but are not limited to: a) Extensive outreach to potential partners in cybersecurity b) Proactive engagement with cyber companies to get input and ideas on how best to structure the internship experience so that it adds value to both partner and participant c) Creation of compelling marketing and presentation materials about the Project, designed for cybersecurity companies d) Ongoing dialogue and communication throughout the Project to ensure effective implementation and management
