Specifications include, but are not limited to: DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE POSITION: An employee in this position may be the first person a visitor to the airport meets. The incumbent's primary responsibility is to aid the airport customers in a friendly manner while making sure that they abide by the airport's regulations. Clear verbal communication skills, neat appearance and people skills are necessary for this position. The midnight/graveyard shift requires the customer service agent to patrol the airport to ensure that no illegal activity is taking place and to monitor the airports security monitors. In addition, this person is required to monitor prevailing weather conditions and call the operations staff if adverse weather conditions exist. TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES: - Makes sure that no unattended cars are at the front curbside. - Makes announcements over the public address system. - Takes baggage carts to customers in the parking lot. - Helps customers carry their baggage into the terminal. - Makes rounds in the terminal looking for unattended baggage. - Patrols the terminal parking lots and grounds. - Tickets vehicles that are in violation of airport regulations. - Works along with County, Airline, TSA, and all other terminal tenants to help the smooth running of the terminal. - Attends the CFR gate during aircraft emergency incidents. - Assists customers with wheelchairs at curbside, if needed. - Monitors airport for adverse weather conditions and ensures airport remains secure. - Responds to door alarms in the terminal. - Other duties, as the County may require.
