This agreement will provide construction inspection services related to preventive maintenance and repairs and/or replacements of existing ITS systems (D265164) in Bronx, Kings, New York, Queens, and Richmond Counties in NYSDOT Region 11 (NYC) that are presently operational. System Components may include, but are not limited to: • Traffic controllers • Sensors • Fiber optic lines • Closed Circuit Cameras/IP Cameras • Variable message signs • Vehicle classification and other legacy communication hardware/software The construction contract work includes diagnosis and performance of remedial work to fix problems and restore the system to normal operations. ITS systems within this project are currently operational, but not necessarily in "state of the art" condition. Some components may no longer be supported by the original manufacturer. This project may include traffic management strategies such as construction phasing, lane closure restriction, night and weekend work, etc. Relocation and deployment of portable variable message sign units may be necessary at various locations throughout the city for traffic management purposes. Inspectors may be required to work nights and/or weekends.
