provide design and construction administration services for the Construct New Hospital Annex for the Emergency Department, Burn Unit & Surgery project at the State University of New York Health Science Center at Syracuse. The Project will construct a new hospital annex focusing on a new emergency department, burn unit and and surgery suite. This state-of-the-art facility will include a surgical suite with operating rooms (ORs), sterile processing department (SPD), as well as intensive care unit (ICU) and burn unit beds along with necessary mechanical spaces. It also will feature a partial imaging suite with medical and diagnostic imaging, catheterization labs, and interventional radiology. It is contemplated that a connection(s) will need to be made to the existing hospital. The design will include capacity for future expansion. Up to four buildings may require demolition: Clark, Jacobsen, Bioethics, and the Campus Activity Building. The campus will relocate the occupants of these buildings. Design Services will proceed for the entire project. The available budget will determine the building's final square footage and programmatic elements, which may result in a smaller footprint than previously outlined. It is preferred that the selected Consultant will have expertise in Lean Methodology for Healthcare Design. The Consultant will also provide expertise in sustainable design to achieve New York State, SUNY and Construction Fund goals regarding energy efficiency and carbon neutrality. The design may target LEED and WELL Building certifications. 3D renderings and VR technology for engagement and marketing will be required for this project.
