Specifications include, but are not limited to: The redesign/ upgrades of existing roadways and intersections surrounding four BusPlus Red Line stations in the City of Schenectady – Nott/ Veeder, Steuben, Division and Woodlawn (Task 1). Additionally, as part of this RFP, the consultant will perform roadway design and engineering analysis of bus lanes on Route 5/ State Street between Nott Terrace/ Veeder Avenue and Division Street( Task 2). The Red Line, launched in 2011, has been serving the Capital District for over 10 years. Technologies and civil practices that best support transit operations and pedestrian connections, which were incorporated into the recent Blue Line construction, were not employed during the construction of the Red Line. It is CDTA’s intention to improve the infrastructure surrounding stations in this RFP to the current level of specification deployed for BRT. Infrastructure improvements will include, and are not limited to: • Queue-jumpers • Bus Lanes (where recommended by Bus Lane Feasibility Study) • Signal replacement and Transit Signal Priority (TSP) • Curb extensions and raised center medians • Green infrastructure • Sidewalk replacement and extensions • Multi-modal integration – bikeshare (CDTA Cycle!), scooters (SCOOT), and carshare (Drive) • Roadway repaving & restriping
