2.2.1 Assisted Transportation Program - The selected Respondent will provide assisted door-throughdoor and door-to-door transportation, including escort to frail persons age 60 or over, who have physical or cognitive difficulties using regular vehicular transportation. The Administration on Aging requires that services reported in the assisted transportation/escort category involve the personal accompaniment for the client throughout an outing or trip. Thus, assistance offered by a van driver in simply operating a wheelchair lift or walking with a client from the van to his/her front door is not considered sufficient for these assisted transportation/escort services. A. These services may include but are not limited to: • Essential errands (examples only, not limited to below) • Medical appointments (including dental and vision) • Pharmacy pickup • Banking • Grocery shopping • Assisting with a client’s coat • Transfer Support (one-arm assist) • One-on-one assistance at a store or an appointment • Assistance with checking in at medical appointments • Bringing groceries and purchases into the home • Social and community activities (examples only, not limited to below)
