Approximately 404 animal cruelty seizures were reported on Oneida County’s behalf in 2023, with both small (e.g., cats and dogs) and large (e.g., horses and cattle) animals each requiring their own tailored assessment (for abuse, neglect, etc.), handling, removal, transport, shelter, licensed veterinary care, foster placement, humane destruction and related care and services (collectively, the “services”). Oneida County seeks proposals from qualified organizations to provide these services directly (or liaise with area stakeholders, partners and networks to arrange for these services) to the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office (“OCSO”) and other law enforcement agencies within Oneida County in connection with their enforcement of Article 26 (Animals) of the New York State Agriculture and Markets Law and related statutes.
