Specifications include, but are not limited to: Serve as a peer mentor and advocate for participants in the JDC and help guide and support JDC participants. 2. Assist participants in all stages of recovery by recognizing personal strengths, setting goals and assisting clients with life skills building. 3. Serve as a positive influence in the participant’s life, encouraging them towards success in school and future goals. 4. Support participants in developing a positive mindset towards peers and caring adults. 5. Help to support participants compliance with mental health services. 6. Work with youth to pursue prosocial activities and events in the community. 7. Meet with participants on an on-going, as needed basis on and off-site and via e-mail and cell phone for support, advice and guidance. Maintain cell phone availability and have flexible hours to allow him or her to attend to participants in the evenings and weekends where practicable
