Specifications include, but are not limited to: This PON seeks research projects in two (2) distinct areas, both related to acidification and mercury in New York States ecosystems. Research associated with the first area, termed Environmental Economics, will be used to strengthen the connections between environmental research, ecosystems services, and environmental economics. Proposals should address issues related to quantification (monetarily or otherwise) of the impacts of acid and mercury deposition in New York State, and address what recovery of these systems might mean for the State. Proposals should also, if appropriate, identify additional research needs that could build on the proposed project (See II A).
