This agreement will provide construction inspection services for the Traffic Signal and Lighting Requirements Project. The objective of this project is to restore traffic signal, lighting systems, and other roadside appurtenance to a non-deficient condition to assure these remain serviceable and improve traffic flow. Existing inadequate signals, lighting systems and appurtenances will be replaced or upgraded. ADA ramps will be replaced/upgraded as part of the traffic signal work. New signal installations will be made where warranted. Once it is determined that an upgrade or a new traffic signal is warranted at a location, it is in the Region’s best interest to progress the construction as soon as possible. The Region uses Traffic Signal Requirement contracts to address this critical need in a timely manner. The contract work locations are spread throughout Nassau and Suffolk Counties. The level of effort at each location varies greatly from full traffic signal upgrades to minor work such as adding a left turn signal to an existing signal.
