Typical services to be performed include, but are not limited: a. Conducting airport and aviation planning/studies including aviation industry economic analyses, airport and aviation system economic impact studies, financial planning and benefit cost analysis, airport data collection and facility inventories, aeronautical activity forecasts, airspace analysis, preparation of or updating the airport layout plan, pavement (airside and landside) assessment studies and other statewide aviation studies and plans. b. Providing engineering and/or architectural services as may be requested and approved by the NYSDOT. In addition to design services, requested services may include construction support services, construction inspection assistance, and construction management/quality assurance services. c. Collecting engineering data and undertaking field investigation; field surveys; perform geotechnical engineering studies, and performing architectural engineering, and special environmental studies. d. Developing design schematics, sketches, environmental and aesthetic considerations, project recommendations, preliminary layouts, and cost estimates. e. Establishing project design criteria and preparing project alternatives. f. Preparing detailed plans, specifications, cost estimates, and design/construction schedules. g. Preparing necessary engineering reports and recommendations. h. Reviewing and approving shop and erection drawings submitted by contractors for compliance with design concept/drawings. i. Preparing Independent Fee Estimate (IFE) in conformance with 3 CFR 200.323 and Table 3-67 of FAA Order 5100.38 j. GIS data collection, entry, analysis, and other electronic graphical/mapping efforts. k.
