Gross vehicle weight rating: 52,800 pounds, minimum. 2.2 Chassis / Frame: • Chassis / frame shall be manufactured and designed by the bidder and shall be that manufacturer's six (6) person custom chassis. Designed for a GVWR in excess of the fully loaded running weight with six (6) person crew. • The chassis shall be designed and manufactured for heavy-duty service. It shall have adequate strength and capacity for the intended load and severe service required by the New York City Fire Department. • Chassis frame shall be constructed of R7 high strength steel with a minimum rating of 120,000 PSI. The chassis frame shall be full length double rail, minimum construction. A full-length chassis liner (from end to end) shall be provided. The chassis shall be painted “Job Red”. •All cross members shall be bolted in place with grade “8” hardware, 5/8”-18 flange head bolts with “Spiralock” nuts. “Huck bolts” are not acceptable. • Holes in the frame area for required, apparatus specific, componentry only. No “Swiss cheese” type rails. Holes shall be confined to the neutral / middle area of the web. No removal, cutting or notching of cross members.
