• Body shall be a heavy-duty, galvanneal steel body made of rust proof metal. Body shall be fully immersed in “E-coat”, or equal, rust resistant coating/primer by the body manufacturer prior to painting. • Body shall be fastened in a minimum of six (6) points, using the manufacturer’s recommended mounting protocol. If recommended by the manufacturer, a Nylon, or equal, isolator shall be used between the body and chassis frame. Isolators shall be properly captured to prevent “walking” out of position. A wood isolator is unacceptable. • Body dimensions: 96” wide maximum overall. Note: Overall length will vary due to the various body length options available on this contract. • The front of the body shall have a full height and width steel bulkhead “panic rack” painted body color. It shall have an expanded metal surface with a cut out (if deemed necessary by FDNY) to provide rearward visibility. There shall also be provisions for a light bar or other accessories to be mounted to it, should this be required as well as bolt on metal guard to protect these lights. Further details shall be discussed at the Preconstruction Conference. • Interior floor shall be 3/16” minimum tread plate covered with gray Linex™ or equal, coating with UV protection that is part of the base stock. The side and front scuff plates of the body load bed floor shall also be coated with this same coating, approximately 18” high.
