Two hundred fifty (250) bushels of certified chowder clams will be provided by the successful bidder. 2. The source of chowder clams for this bid shall be the U.S. East Coast marine waters north of the state of New Jersey. Shellfish harvested from western Long Island Sound and Raritan Bay will not be accepted. Shellfish banned from import by NYSDEC regulations will not be accepted, these include shellfish harvested from Wellfleet Harbor, Barnstable Harbor, New Bedford Harbor, Westport River (MA), Provincetown, and Duxbury. 3. All deliveries shall be during the period of May 1, to November 30. Exact delivery dates will be arranged with the successful bidder and Environmental Control personnel and shall coincide with the normal work week (Monday- Friday) and will commence at a dock within the town, to be determined prior to delivery. This will occur no later than 12:00p.m. for a given delivery. 4. All bushels of chowder clams shall consist of 100ct or the equivalent in Cherry or Topneck. 5. At least 24hours advance notice shall be given to the Town of Babylon prior to lot delivery. 6. All shellfish delivered to the Town must be reasonably fresh. The Town of Babylon reserves the right to reject any or all of the order if the clams are found to be gaped, cracked, or in a generally deteriorated condition. 7. Relayed shellfish that have been held in "racks" are unacceptable for this bid.
