Summary of Specifications:
Bidders may inspect, at any time, the property upon which the construction is to occur. The work site is located on County Route 77 in the Hamlet of Kerhonkson, Town of Wawarsing, Ulster County, NY. Ed Pine, Senior County Engineer at (845)- 340-3124, may be contacted for more particulars as to location. The work includes providing all labor, materials, machinery, tools, equipment and other means of construction necessary and incidental to the completion of the work shown on the plans and described in these specifications, including, but not necessarily limited to, the following: Replacement of the existing steel truss bridge which carries County Route 77 over the Rondout Creek, including the installation of new sidewalks extending from the north end of the bridge towards NYS Route 209. Plans and specifications may be examined at McGraw Hill Construction Dodge, 231 Salina Meadows Parkway, Suite 130, East Syracuse, New York, 13212; Ulster County Purchasing Office, 310 Flatbush Avenue, Kingston, NY 12401 (845) 340-3400. Plans and specifications may be obtained on or after June 25, 2009 from Ulster County Purchasing, by presenting a check payable to The Comptroller of Ulster County in the amount of $100.00 per set. Add $10.00 Shipping & Hanlding charge if you wish bid specifications mailed to you. The deposit for each set of these documents will be refunded to each bidder who returns them in good condition within 30 days after the award of the contract or rejection of bids.. All bids must be made on the Official Bid Form or an exact copy by reproduction thereof and enclosed in a sealed envelope. This is a unit price bid as described in the Instructions To Bidders. No proposal may be withdrawn without the consent of Ulster County for a period of 45 days after date of bid opening. Proposals must be submitted on, and according to, the appropriate forms in the bid specifications, and shall be made and received upon the following conditions: Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check upon a National Bank, State Bank or Trust Company of not less than 5% of the base bid or a bid bond with a bonding company licensed to do business in the State of New York and conditioned that if the proposal is accepted, the successful bidder shall enter into a contract for the work and shall execute, within 7 days from the date of the acceptance of the proposal, (1) a suitable security bond for the guarantee of payment of labor and materials as per specifications, and (2) a performance bond in the amount and containing the terms set forth in the bid specifications, for the faithful and prompt performance and completion of the work specified in the contract. The successful bidder will be required to comply with all provisions of the Federal Government Equal Employment Opportunity clauses issued by the Secretary of Labor on May 21, 1968 and published in the Federal Register (41CFR Part 60-1, 33 F.2 7804).
