Summary of Specifications:
The purpose of this RFP is to inform potential providers of an opportunity to assist at least 3 large employers in Rockland County in implementing sustainable changes that will improve health outcomes for the workforce. The worksites chosen should preferably be two (2) public employers (ex: school district and a town) and one (1) private employer all with a combined reach of a minimum of 2000 employees. Sustainable changes support policy, environmental or systems changes that increase physical activity, improve nutrition, and promote tobacco-free environments and employees. In addition, each worksite should be engaged in at least 2 wellness programs including but not limited to walking programs, healthy food preparation programs, smoking cessation programs, etc.
As part of the Steps to a HealthierNY Campaign, the Rockland County Department of Health will award one grant to fund worksite wellness initiatives. Providers must have at least 10 years experience in developing and implementing worksite wellness programs, have experience and success in assisting worksites to make long-term policy or environmental changes, ability to attend meetings at the participating worksites and maintain regular contact, and have administrative and support staff to provide technical and programmatic assistance to the worksites involved.
