Summary of Specifications:
The County of Rockland Department of General Services - Purchasing Division is requesting bids from interested organizations to provide tree cutting, trimming and removal service, including stumps, for various locations. Contractor will also be required to perform this service on private property as directed by an authorized County of Rockland representative. 2. PREVAILING WAGE 2.1. The Department of Labor has advised that the work performed under this contract is subject to various labor classifications based on the work performed and the type of equipment being operated, including but not limited to, Heavy and Highway; and Teamster classifications. In addition, employees may be required to be paid different rates, based on the specific task they are completing. 2.2. Bidders are advised to contact the New York State Department of Labor, Newburgh Office, Prevailing Wage Unit to discuss the requirements of this contract and correctly determine which prevailing wage rates apply to this contract. The contact number is 845-568-5287. 2.3. The New York State Department of Labor considers the drive time from a less than full day job site to a municipal job to be Prevailing Wage. The County shall not be billed for travel time. This expense (travel) shall be figured as Overhead and Profit portion of their hourly rates bid.
