Summary of Specifications:
The County of Rockland’s Department of Public Transportation (the County) is seeking proposals from qualified firms with experience in delivering software, equipment, and services for an Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) implementation. While this request is primarily for fixed route service the County will eventually standardize the ITS deployment environment to include the County Paratransit system, T.R.I.P.S. Qualified respondents must be able to demonstrate strong and current experience in deploying ITS solutions on both Fixed and Paratransit transit systems. The County of Rockland shall procure the following technologies: • Fixed route Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) and Automatic Vehicle Location, (AVL) Technology with a Management Information System. • Mobile Data Computers (MDC) with Automatic Vehicle Location Technology, an Automatic Voice and Visual Announcement System, and Automatic Passenger Counters (APC), and Automated Scheduling Software.
