REQUEST FOR INFORMATION
The County of Rockland Purchasing Division will be issuing an Invitation to Bid for a Regenerative Air Design, Diesel Powered, Side Dump, Variable Height Street Sweeper with a 5.7 Cu. Yd. (or equivalent) capacity, and Dual Steering capability.
The purpose of this RFI is to identify all possible manufacturers of this type of street sweeper or equivalent models.
The Competitive Bid that will be issued shortly will include a Request for Approved Equals process that will allow manufacturers of similar types of street sweepers to request approval of variations to the County’s bid specification. The Requests for Approved Equals will be submitted prior to the bid opening and the County will render a decision on each request prior to the bid opening so that all potential bidders are aware of the variations to the bid specification that have been approved by the County.
Manufacturers are encouraged to allow multiple dealers to submit bids. The County will not award a contract if the County receives a single bid for the specified (with approved variations) street sweeper.
Manufacturers or dealers who believe they can satisfy the County’s need for the Street Sweeper identified in this Request for Information should contact Paul J, Brennan, CPPO, Director of Purchasing to express their interest in the upcoming Bid, and to provide any product literature for the model they believe will satisfy the County’s needs.
