Summary of Specifications:
The County anticipates replacing the existing UHF LTR/Passport capable CDM-1550-LS+ mobiles and HT-1250-LS+ portables, including units equipped with AVL systems, with Motorola XPR-4550 and XPR6350 digital trunking radios, OR approved equal. The new system will include the interfacing the radios to the all desk sets and remotes that the County highway department currently owns. It is required that all units furnished be capable of operating on Connect+ Digital trunking and performing unit ID functions such as radio check, PTT ID encode/decode. All radios that will be installed in a vehicle will be required to have the UHF and GPS (where applicable) antennas properly installed on the vehicle’s roof (several vehicles may require alternative mounts, such as mirror brackets). Fender or hood mounts will not be acceptable. All units that have AVL capabilities shall be configured to send the position reports on a data-only group in the trunking system without operator intervention. Installation of all new remotes or control stations must be coordinated with the proper officials at the highway department as well as at Rockland County Radio Headquarters. It will be the vendor’s responsibility to ensure that Radio Headquarters will have the proper equipment necessary to communicate on the new system from their existing Motorola Centra-Com Gold Elite dispatch console, and to furnish any required equipment at the discount specified on the bid proposal pages. AVL hosting has been removed from the specifications.
