SSN-RC-2017-005 - Proposed Sole Source Award to Venture Foundation - Supported Employment Program

The County of Rockland is considering the issuance of a Sole Source award to Venture Foundation, LTD for the provision of a Supported Employment Program-Bulk Ordering Program for those with Developmental Disabilities. 
 
This award may be made on a sole source basis in accordance with the Rockland County Procurement Policy.
 The contract fills a need for:
 Work opportunities and employment training opportunities for Rockland County individuals with Developmental Disabilities. 

• The target population is people with developmental disabilities who have not found success in their goal to work. These individuals may have behavioral, physical or health related issues that have prohibited them from working in the past. Camp Venture has a long and successful history of working with and supporting individuals with challenging behaviors, as well as, physical and health related issues. We do not consider these challenges as barriers but rather opportunities for creativity and thoughtful planning.
•  Developing and maintaining a website for community customers (schools, churches, non-profit organizations, community businesses and government agencies and departments) to be able to easily access and complete bulk ordering from Camp Venture’s Just A Buck store. 
• A marketing specialist who will go out into the community soliciting new business and expanding the customer base.

•  Provide real work paid at minimum wage for Rockland County IDD consumers who require ongoing support to maintain competitive employment. 
• Provide ongoing opportunities for community integration.
