RFP-RC-05-022 - Land Use Planning and Consultant

Summary of Specifications:
PURPOSE The purpose of this RFP is to hire a consultant to assist the Rockland County Departments of Planning (RCDP) and Public Transportation in providing technical guidance for both long-range and short-term land use and transportation projects. 

OBJECTIVES The Planning Department has both long-range and short-term planning projects that require extensive research, land use knowledge and history of the county. These projects must be consistent with the County’s comprehensive plan, “River to Ridge” goals and action plans. The projects include, but are not limited to: 1) technical review of the Tappan Zee Bridge/I-287 DEIS; 2) reviewing land use related maps for accuracy and content; 3) assisting with the Downtown New City joint town/county project; 4) reviewing major land use project proposals such as Letchworth Village, Harbors at Haverstraw, Lorterdan and the Rockland Psychiatric Center; 5) providing technical assistance for the Railroad Safety Crossing and Quiet Zone project; 6) providing technical assistance in educational programs offered by the Rockland Municipal Planning Federation and 7) work with the Historic Preservation Council to manage the Historic and Scenic Roads consultant.
