PROPOSED SOLE SOURCE AWARD TO ROCKLAND OPPORTUNITY DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATION, INC. FOR SOCIAL ADULT DAY CARE CENTERS, CONGREGATE & TAKE HOME MEALS, AND TRANSPORTATION, $69,545 The County of Rockland is considering the issuance of a Sole Source award to Rockland Opportunity Development Association, Inc. for the provision of Adult Day Care Centers, Congregate & Take Home Meals, and Transportation. This award may be made on a sole source basis in accordance with the Rockland County Procurement Policy. The contract fills a need for: • Adult Social Day Care, including transportation and congregate meals for eligible Rockland County residents. The current program is operated at 15 Elyon Road, Monsey, NY. • An Adult Social Day Care program geared to improving the health, social welfare, and safety of the elderly segment of Rockland County. • A program that offers a five day per week social adult day care center as well as demand transportation for medical appointments and other errands. • Providing participants with a hot take-home meal at the end of each session. • Provision of demand transportation, outreach services to the homebound elderly, support services which provide essential information on pertinent senior issues, and referrals to other agencies. • An Adult Social Day care program that offers the senior citizen population intellectual and social stimulation and physical support so that they may continue to be a vital element of the community.
