RFP-RC-07-002 - Employee Pharmacy Services

Summary of Specifications:
The purpose of this RFP is to inform licensed pharmacies of a potential business opportunity to provide prescription medications for the County of Rockland’s Employee Prescription Program. The County of Rockland currently provides pharmacy services to persons eligible for health coverage through the County’s employee health plans (NYSHIP and/or any of the approved HMO’s offered by the County). Four thousand insured (active and retired County employees) and their dependents including domestic partners are eligible to have prescriptions filled at the Employee Pharmacy located at the Dr. Robert L. Yeager Health Center in Pomona, New York. All co-payments shall be made to the vendor by the County of Rockland. The purpose of this contract is to provide all covered prescription services to eligible insured through a system in which insured drop off prescriptions at the Employee Pharmacy at Dr. R. L. Yeager Health Center, together with information sufficient to prove eligibility, and receive their medications the following day. The Contractor will fill all prescriptions on a 24 hour turn around basis (Monday through Friday, weekends excluded). Only prescription requests dropped off and processed through the Employee Pharmacy shall have the co-payment invoiced to the County of Rockland.
