Summary of Specifications:
The purpose in the on‐going redevelopment of the housing s rvices offered through the Department of Social Services is to m ke every effort to engagefamilies and individuals prior to their eviction or potential homelessness.  Over the course of the past few years the DSS has been redesigning the services offered to c nsumers in an attempt to reduce he stigmatism regarding applicat ons for assistance.  Too many families and individuals are reluc ant to seek assistance until the issues surrounding their loss o  housing have beome extended to a degree where prevention servic s are no longer feasible. The DSS has been developing strength&# 208;based, community centered, family friendly services in an ef ort to engage consumer prior to their loss of housing.
