Summary of Specifications:
The County of Orange – Department of Parks, Recreation and Conservation (the County) is requesting proposals for a professional camp operator (Proposer/Contractor) to provide four five-day multi-sports camps for two age-groups of children as specified in Parts A & B below to be run at the following locations and dates in four different County parks: Week 1: July 7-11, Algonquin Park, Powder Mill Road, Newburgh, NY 12550. Week 2: July 14-18, D&H Canal Park, Hoag Road, Cuddebackville, NY 12729. Week 3: July 21-25, Warwick County Park, County Park Lane, Warwick, NY 10990. Week 4: July 28-August 1, Thomas Bull Memorial Park, Grove Street, Montgomery, NY 12549. The County will provide a suitable location for outdoor activities at each location and in case of inclement weather a pavilion will be provided for activities. By submitting a proposal, the Contractor acknowledges that (a) it is familiar with the condition of the each location (e.g. Thomas Bull Memorial Park) and accepts it “as is”, and (b) without limiting the generality of the foregoing, that the County has no obligation to render or supply any alterations, services, equipment, materials or staff to make any location suitable or ready for the Contractor’s use. Transportation of the campers shall be the responsibility of the parents or guardians. Part A: Four separate five-day weeks of Multi-Sports Camps in County of Orange Park facilities for children between the ages of 5 and 14. The Camp will operate each day of the week from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. In addition, the Contractor will provide supervision for campers between the hours of 8:30 AM and 9:00 AM and supervision with limited activities between the hours of 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM. Part B: Four separate five-day weeks of Introduction to Sports Camp in County of Orange Park facilities for pre-kindergarten children between the ages of 3 and 5 years old. The camp will operate each day of the week from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM. The County's Agreement for Contractor Services (Exhibit A) shall be the basis for a negotiated contract between County and the selected Contractor. The terms and conditions of this RFP shall be controlling over any conflicting terms and conditions in Exhibit A. The initial contract term shall be for one year (June 1, 2008 – May 31, 2009). Should it be mutually agreeable between the selected Contractor and the County, the Contract may be extended for a maximum of two (2), one (1) year terms.
