Summary of Specifications:
The County of Dutchess, Office for the Aging, requires legal assistance to be provided to senior citizens. Legal assistance under this program shall be defined as legal advice and representation provided by an attorney licensed to practice in the State of New York. The service is open to Dutchess County residents 60 years and older, but is targeted to individuals 60 years of age and older who are in social and economic need. Assistance may include, to the extent feasible, counseling or other appropriate assistance by a paralegal or law student under the direct supervision of a qualified attorney. The program provides service in civil matters of the law and does not include criminal matters or fee generating cases.
