Description

The City of Peekskill adopted an Affordable Housing Ordinance (AHO) in 2022, including Policies and Procedures for its implementation. The ordinance allows the City to contract with a qualified not-for-profit organization that will serve as the City’s Administrative Agency to implement the AHO. The Agency will market the affordable and workforce housing units that are included in all private developments, screen and select the applicants for the units, and re-certify households in accordance with Peekskill’s Policies and Procedures.

The Agency will handle the marketing, income and eligibility review, and monitor the affordable and workforce housing units. The costs of such administration and monitoring shall be borne by the developer/owner in accordance with a fee schedule to be approved by the City. The fee schedule will be based upon the fees proposed by the not-for-profit organization that is awarded the contract.
