ITB-5440 - Northwest Yonkers Watermains (Rebid)

BID HISTORY: This is a rebid of ITB-5409 (opened Nov. 5, 2008) The low bid for ITB-5409 exceeded the available funds for this project by more than $1.3 million. The Department has been monitoring the material costs for this project and has determined that they have been dropping significantly since the bid opening on November 5, 2008. Additionally, the horizontal and vertical alignments of the water lines have been changed in some locations in an effort to reduce costs. PROJECT DETAILS: Installation of ductile iron watermains along North Broadway from Gateway Road to Ashburton Avenue, along Ashburton Avenue, and Park Avenue to Flagg Place. The new work will form part of the City’s water transmission system. Included in the work is 14,500lf of 12”, 16", and 20” D.I.P., approximately 85 valves and 50 hydrants. Traffic is to be maintained throughout the project, and full depth pavement restoration is to be performed as the project progresses. A Project Labor Agreement is in effect for this contract.
