Summary of Specifications:
These specifications describe the terms necessary to secure a supplier for the City of Yonkers to purchase mechanical joint fittings for the repair and maintenance of water distribution mains throughout the City- Fittings: Fittings shall be mechanical joint, cement mortar lined, and fittings of all sizes shall be class 250. Fittings shall be made in accordance with American Standard A 21.11/AWWA C 111 latest version. Sealing gaskets, follower glands, lubricant, tee head bolts and hexagonal nuts shall be provided in sufficient quantities for each fitting. All fittings furnished under this contract shall also meet all requirements of ANSI A21.10 AWWA C 110 latest version. -Ductile Iron Pipe: All ductile iron pipe to be supplied under these specifications shall be manufactured in accordance with ANSI specifications A21.51/AWWA C 151 latest version. The thickness class for all ductile iron pipe up to and including 12 inches shall be class 56. Pipe over 12 inches shall be class 54. Pipes to be furnished with push on type joints per ANSI specification A 21.11/AWWA C 111 latest revision complete with gaskets and lubricant. -Cement Lined: All pipes furnished under this contract shall be cement 1ined in accordance with ASSI specification A 21.4/AWWA C 104 latest version and seal coated inside and out. Minimum thickness of cement lining shall be 3 inch through 12 inch, 1/8 inch, 14 inch through 24 inch, 3/16 inch, 30 inch through 36 inch, ¼ inch
