Summary of Specifications:
The City desires to establish a contract through competitive negotiation with a qualified consultant to provide a directed comparative analysis of the staffing levels of both the Yonkers Police and Fire Departments. This study calls for a review of public safety departments in like-size cities (population 180,000 to 220,000) with similar demographics, population density and topography as Yonkers.
The overall goal of the study is to assess appropriate staffing levels, resource allocation, and efficiency of operations.
The study should compare the current staffing levels and workloads (calls for service) of the respective Yonkers Police and Fire departments with that of departments in the selected cities. The consultant shall prepare the study without interviewing any Police or Fire Department personnel.
