Summary of Specifications:
The City of Yonkers (COY) is interested in securing a contractor to provide professional tree services, including all labor and equipment, as necessary to eliminate the backlog of tree service calls within the City limits. An itemized listing of the existing tree service backlog for the period of January 1, 2007 through November 26, 2012 is attached hereto for bidder review and reference. Bidders should be aware that: (1) the City maintains a full-time tree service team; and (2) tree service calls are received and inventoried each day. As such, the tree service inventory annexed hereto will change and evolve during the bid period, and the successful bidder will be provided with an updated inventory at the time a contract for services is issued.
The City’s tree service team consists of three crews with 3 – 4 workers per crew and they handle 10 - 15 service requests per day. The fist crew takes the tree down to the bole, the second crew removes the bole, and the third crew grinds the stump.
The work contemplated under this contract shall consist of: 1. tree removal, 2. bole removal, 3. stump removal, 4. pruning, 5. raising – trimming/removing lower branches so as not obstruct pedestrians or vehicles.
