Summary of Specifications:
The City of Yonkers (the City), along with the Yonkers Community Development Agency (CDA) and/or the Yonkers Industrial Agency (YIDA), is soliciting proposals from full developer teams (Respondents) for the proposed Chicken Island Development Project (the Project). The site name commonly used in Yonkers comes from the late 1800’s when a small island in the Saw Mill River at this site was used as a local chicken farm. The site is located in the downtown and city hall district of Yonkers, NY. The Chicken Island Development Project emerges from a citizen’s vision for the renaissance of the Yonkers downtown district, and in collaboration with the River Park Center Development Corporation – a non-profit development corporation created for the purpose of receiving and applying for certain State of New York monies that have been dedicated to the Saw Mill River Daylighting Project—a multi-million dollar public improvement project that’s part of the city’s Master Plan for Downtown Yonkers.
