Restoring T.R. Gallo Waterfront Park to its condition prior to Superstorm Sandy will require replacement of the electrical power distribution assets serving all areas of the park, including the site ground receptacles, tree lighting receptacles, shore dock receptacles, power panels, and associated junction boxes. The electrical power distribution panels, junction boxes, and conduit require upgrades to meet current NEC, NFPA, and IETA / NETA codes and standards with respect to exterior enclosures and mounting heights. T.R. Gallo Park (also called West Strand Park) is in the heart of the city's Rondout Business District at 30 Rondout Landing, Kingston NY 12401. TR Gallo Waterfront Park is a cultural and recreational facility along the Rondout Creek one half mile upstream of the confluence with the Hudson River. Owned and operated by the City of Kingston, the park was created in 1984 as part of New York State’s Urban Cultural Parks System and consists primarily of recreational area, parking lot, and docks. In 2010, the park was expanded to include a waterfront promenade alongside Rondout Creek. The site is located adjacent to the Kingston Urban Cultural Park, listed on the U.S. National Park Service’s National Register of Historic Places.
