SECTION 1: PURPOSE
The purpose of this Request for information is to identify real property that may be utilized for the consolidation and operation of Albany City Hall Courts.
SECTION 2: RECEIPT OF RESPONSES:
If a respondent chooses to submit a response by mail or hand delivery, then two (2) copies of the response must be received in a sealed envelope marked “Response Enclosed – RFI 2024-01 “REQUEST FOR INFORMATION FOR ACQUISITION OF LEASE OF REAL PROPERTY” at the address below.

2.2 Those submitting information do so entirely at their own expense. There is no express or implied obligation by the CITY to reimburse any entity, firm or individual for any costs incurred in preparing or submitting Responses, preparing or submitting additional information requested by the CITY, or participating in any interviews.
2.3 Respondents shall avoid submission of marketing materials.
2.4 All information submitted in response to this RFI is subject to the Freedom of Information Law (FOIL), which generally mandates the disclosure of documents in the possession of the CITY upon the request of any person unless the content of the document falls under a specific exemption to disclosure.
SECTION 3: SOLICITATION DESCPRTION:
3.1 The City of Albany owns and maintains two parts of the City Court within City Hall: Traffic Court, located in the basement, and Civil Court, located on the Second Floor. Additionally, the City of Albany

owns and maintains Criminal Court within the Morton Ave. Public Safety Building at 1 Morton Ave. These facilities have been deemed by the Uniformed Court District to be insufficient” to meet the long term needs of the courts
3.2 The City seeks to explore opportunities to relocate and consolidate the three parts of City Court at a new facility. This facility must have the following requirements:
• The property must be located within the City of Albany
• The facility must provide at least 100,000 sq. ft. of gross floor area
• Parking for 50 vehicles must be included, or be accessible though lease or acquisition of an adjacent parcel
• The property must be accessible by transit
o Preferably on a CDTA bus route
o May also be no less than .2 miles from a CDTA bus route
• It is anticipated the City would be responsible for fit up for court facilities
• The City is open to lease, purchase, or lease-to-own options
• A lease or lease –to-own must not have terms that extend beyond 30 years
3.3 Respondents should utilize the response form provided and be sure to provide details on subject property including
• Address
• Building details including sq. footage, stories, utility information (electrical service)
• Parking availability
• Cost per sq. ft. to lease or cost per sq. ft. for purchase
SECTION 4: INDEMNIFICATION:
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the selected Proposer(s) shall indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the CITY and its officers, boards, directors, employees, and agents from and against any and all claims, damages, losses, and expenses, including but not limited to attorney’s fees, for any actual or alleged injury to any person or persons, including death, or damage to or destruction of property arising out of any act or omission on the part of the selected Proposer, its employees, agents, or subcontractors for any work or services performed on behalf of the CITY.
