The New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University (SUNY) intends to make an award under our discretionary authority pursuant to NYS Education Law Section 355(5)(a) which is up to $125,000, for the above commodity. The purpose of this discretionary ad is to acquire a horizontal high temperature furnace with controlled atmosphere for the Materials Science and Engineering Department at NYSCC-Alfred. This equipment will expand the instructional and research capabilities of the department by enabling heat treatments under controlled atmospheres up to temperatures of 1800C. Such capabilities will be utilized to educate students within the programs on industrially relevant processes such as sintering of ceramics or melting of glass as well as to boost innovative undergraduate and graduate research. The equipment’s technical specifications must comply with the minimum specifications, features, capabilities and performance requested in the attached document.
Proposals must include a detailed pricing breakdown of the equipment and accessories, including any associated costs such as installation, training or warranties.
