RFP-2010-074 - Engineering Services Contract & Construction Remedial Oversight

Summary of Specifications:
The Albany County Sewer District is requesting proposals for contract and construction / remedial oversight as it relates to repairs of sewage sludge storage tank concrete lining systems at the North Plant. The Sewer District has retained Corrosion Probe, Inc. for existing condition assessments and design. Based on the failure analysis / assessment the District will be repairing the lining systems in two (2) storage tanks at the North Plant designated #3+4. The reinforced concrete upper walls and ceilings (including roof support beam surfaces) were repaired and lined with an epoxy lining / coating system in 2006. Within one year, lining delamination was observed in all seven (7) of the District tanks (4 at the North Plant and 3 at the South Plant). Based on continued evaluation and assessment the District has decided to move forward with repairs of the above referenced two (2) tanks at the North Plant. The purpose is to continue evaluation of the success of those repairs and provide a clearer path of potential remediation of the five (5) remaining tanks. It is anticipated that the design will be completed by the end of April with repair bids released in May and work to start by August.
