Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. Standards mapping, curriculum alignment, and theme objective development. Magnet Schools will develop progressing objectives that define knowledge, skills, and attributes that connect standards with the specific magnet school theme that are clearly articulated, evident in all curricular areas, and vertically and horizontally aligned. The PD provider will facilitate the explicit connection of the theme philosophy and content standards in a collaborative process to develop a magnet curriculum that is horizontally and vertically aligned, documented, and appropriately sequenced. The magnet curriculum should specify opportunity for differentiation, acceleration, and intervention. STEM, Arts Integration, Dual Language, College Career Readiness, Project Based Learning, and Digital Learning are the current magnet themes. 2. Developing and defining relevant success matrices for magnet schools Development of customized school-wide assessment strategy that provides comprehensive evidence of student learning and informs instructional adjustment, clearly communicates student progress with parents and families, and serves as a unifying tool for school-wide integration of theme and content objectives. Assessments must reflect high expectations of academic rigor and integrates assessment of school-wide theme objectives using multiple indicators that demonstrate mastery.
