Specifications include, but are not limited to: Assist Otero County in managing the costs of employee benefits. o Review of the employee benefit plan funding methods for adequacy and cost effectiveness. o Preparing request for proposals for benefits plans, marketing the proposals, analyzing the proposals, providing a recommendation and negotiating with providers as requested. o Implementing any provider change and assisting with the communication of new programs or changes to existing programs, to include attending and presenting information at open enrollment meetings; o Provide ongoing assistance with benefit plans including contract review, summary plan description development and review, and ongoing issues and/or areas of concern that may arise with the providers; o Assist in complying with laws and regulations related to employee benefits.
