1. Youth Violence Interruption and Prevention Programs • Increase access and build capacity for healing and community restoration • Focus on youth’s inherent strengths, abilities, and potential to overcome challenges and achieve their goals. • Concentrate on identifying and leveraging the positive attributes and resources of each young person. • Promote economic stability and justice for families. • Reduce the rates of firearm assaults and gun-related homicides citywide. • Promote prevention strategies that engage community voices and reimagine community safety. • Focus on community-wide violence interruption efforts, including intergenerational programming for families. • Assess and expand the reach of new existing best practice violence prevention and education programs. 2. Restorative Justice Program • Help youth (typically first-time offenders aged 11-17) make amends for the harm they have caused. • Youth referred by Teen Court and CYFD • Guided restorative process using the Sharing Circle model, including pre- and post-circle support and follow-up sessions. • Support youth returning to Santa Fe from detention with victim-offender mediation for closure. • Data collection in compliance with CYFD requirements. 3. Intensive Community Monitoring (ICM) Program • Alternative to detention for youth who have committed offenses. • Provide immediate sanctions and enhanced supervision while allowing youth (aged 13-17) to remain in the community. • Intensive case management, family support, and mentorship. • Reduce recidivism and promote positive community engagement. • Guide, coach, advocate and supervise youth in educational, vocational/service and behavioral settings within the community to help clients understand their role as a positive and productive member of the community. • Referrals made by the courts with data collection in compliance with CYFD standards.
