DACDC requires one unarmed sentry position for twenty-four hours a day seven days a week service and 1 unarmed sentry position for Mon-Fri 8 to 5. They also need intermittent coverage for hospital duty that includes: two armed officers for federal detainees and 1 armed office for state detainees, Hospital guard duty includes Las Cruces, El Paso and Albuquerque. In the event of critical staffing shortages unarmed guard services may be needed inside the Detention Center. The following are the minimum requirements for the Dona Ana County Detention Center: All contract guard personnel assigned to watch a hospitalized detainee for the Detention Center shall be properly trained. The Dona Ana County Detention Center shall provide the training for security of hospitalized inmates and inmates requiring security assistance for transportation of inmates to the awarded contractor.
