Specifications include, but are not limited to: GUIDE SPECIFICATION: Fluid, Deicing/Anti-icing, Runways and Taxiways, Potassium Acetate Base or approved generic thereof – in addition to requirements set by AMS 1435A.Scope: This specification covers a potassium-acetate based or approved generic thereof, deicing/anti-icing fluid in the form of a concentrated liquid meeting FAA-approved specification SAE AMS 1435A (“The Fluid”). 2. Additional requirements: 2.1 The vendor shall provide a copy of independent laboratory certification of The Fluid to AMS 1435A. 2.2 The vendor shall provide the name and location of the fluid production site on vendor’s letterhead. 2.3 The vendor shall provide written technical information covering at minimum the fluid’s environmental impact, MSDS, handling, storage and application guidelines. 2.4 The vendor shall provide a report of the fluid’s biochemical oxygen demand (BOD) and theoretical total oxygen demand (TOD). The report shall be by an independent party and state compliance with EPA test methods. 2.5 For long-term storage reasons, the fluid shall be stable and shall not separate in storage. 2.6 The vendor shall provide evidence that it can deliver the fluid to the City’s receiving location within 48 hours of order placement including distribution and production capabilities. Vendor shall provide the names of 4 airports to which it supplied the fluid during the last five years. 2.7 Since the airport has a large quantity of Cryotech’s E36 deicing chemical on hand, the product being proposed by the bidders must be compatible with and capable of mixing with the E36 product without separation. Upon notice by the buyer, vendor will be required to provide a one gallon sample of product being proposed for testing purposes. Vendor will have 10 days once contacted by buyer to provide sample.
