The Awarded Vendor will patrol and monitor wolf-livestock conflicts within Agency identified Mexican wolf ranges and provide non-lethal wolf-livestock deterrence. Awarded Vendor will ride horseback or ATVs within livestock ranges at a minimum of 7 hours per day at locations determined by the NMDGF that are currently experiencing depredation from wolves, or locations that have had past experiences with wolf depredations. Effective times for range riding are dawn, dusk, and nighttime when wolves are most active. Awarded Vendor will report to the NMDGF any suspected wolf depredations of livestock within 24 hours. If a depredation event occurs (injury or death to livestock), range rider presence and duration should be increased to deter wolf presence. With guidance from the NMDGF, Awarded Vendor will alter the times and duration of riding to help prevent wolves/predators from habituating to rider presence and predicting presence at NMDGF approved locations. Awarded Vendor will monitor livestock herd as well as scout ahead to where livestock will be moving to and look for sign of wolves. The Awarded Vendor shall submit monthly reports to the NMDGF that include: GPS or maps of route/area monitored and date, GPS/map/photos of suspected wolf kills, Any hazing efforts that were undertaken (including time and date), Start and end times of daily efforts, Additional data requested by the NMDGF.
